Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what actually happens on HotFreshDeals.com today, based on a review of this site’s current implementation. It is written for a real, operating affiliate deals website — not generic placeholder text — and will need to be reviewed by a qualified attorney and updated if the site’s functionality changes (for example, if analytics, advertising, a contact form, or user accounts are added later).

Contents

1. Who We Are

HotFreshDeals (“HotFreshDeals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates HotFreshDeals.com, a website that aggregates and displays deals, discounts, and coupons for products sold on Amazon and other retailers. HotFreshDeals participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission when you make a qualifying purchase after clicking a link from our site. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

HotFreshDeals is not Amazon, is not owned by Amazon, and does not represent Amazon. We are an independent site that links to Amazon’s own website using the Amazon Product Advertising API (also referred to as the “Creators API”). Any purchase you make is completed entirely on Amazon’s (or another retailer’s) own website, under that retailer’s own terms and privacy practices.

Business/legal entity: [HotFreshDeals legal business name — e.g. "HotFreshDeals LLC" or your own name if operating as a sole proprietor — to be provided]
Address: [Business mailing address to be provided]

2. Information You Provide to Us

HotFreshDeals does not currently require visitors to create an account or log in to browse deals, coupons, or categories. Public account registration is disabled on this site. As a result, in the ordinary course of browsing the site, you are not asked to provide a name, email address, password, or similar account information.

The only place on the public site where you can currently submit information to us is the “Report Deal” feature described below.

3. The “Report Deal” Feature

Every deal page includes an optional “Report Deal” form so visitors can flag a deal that looks wrong, expired, or otherwise incorrect. When you submit that form, we collect only:

  • The deal you are reporting (its internal ID, title, and page URL);
  • The reason you selected from a fixed drop-down list (for example, “price is wrong” or “deal has expired”); and
  • An optional free-text comment, if you choose to add one.

The form does not ask for your name, email address, or any account information, and none is required to submit a report. If you voluntarily type personal information into the optional comment field, that text is stored as part of the report — we recommend not including personal information in that field unless necessary.

Deal reports are stored in our WordPress database and are visible only to site administrators, who review them to decide whether a deal needs to be corrected, unpublished, or left as-is. Reports are not shared with, or sold to, any third party, and are not used for advertising or marketing. Reports are currently retained indefinitely unless an administrator deletes them; we have not yet defined a fixed retention period for this data (see Section 8).

4. Information Collected Automatically

Like virtually all websites, the servers that host HotFreshDeals automatically process certain technical information as part of normal web traffic, including your IP address, browser type and version, device/operating system information, the page you requested, the page you came from (referrer), and the date and time of your visit. This information is generated by standard web server and hosting infrastructure logging — it is not collected through a dedicated analytics platform, because HotFreshDeals does not currently have one installed (see Section 5).

We use this technical information only for purposes such as diagnosing technical problems, maintaining site security, and understanding basic server load — not to build individual visitor profiles.

HotFreshDeals does not currently log or persist the search terms you enter into the site’s search box beyond using them to generate the search results page you requested in that moment.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We reviewed HotFreshDeals’ actual code and active plugins to describe this accurately, rather than listing every cookie category a typical privacy policy template mentions.

What we found: HotFreshDeals does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising or marketing cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or any third-party consent-management, analytics, or advertising plugin or script. There is no Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, or similar technology installed on this site as of the date above.

The only cookies this platform can set are WordPress’s own standard, strictly-necessary session cookies used when a staff member logs in to the administrative dashboard to manage deals and coupons. Ordinary visitors browsing deals, coupons, or categories are not asked to log in and are not issued any tracking cookie by us for that browsing activity.

If this changes in the future — for example, if HotFreshDeals adds analytics or advertising technology — this Policy will be updated first, and, where required by law, a consent mechanism will be implemented before those technologies load.

6. Amazon, the Product Advertising API, and Affiliate Links

HotFreshDeals retrieves live product information — such as titles, images, prices, discounts, ratings, and deal/coupon eligibility — directly from Amazon through the Amazon Product Advertising API (Creators API). This is how our deal and coupon listings stay current. We do not fabricate or guess at Amazon pricing, availability, or coupon information; if Amazon does not report a value, HotFreshDeals does not display one.

Links that take you to a product on Amazon are affiliate links generated through the Amazon Associates Program. When you click one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, HotFreshDeals may earn a commission, at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full explanation.

Once you leave HotFreshDeals.com by clicking a product link, your interaction with Amazon (or another retailer) — including any account you use, any information you provide at checkout, and any cookies Amazon itself sets — is governed entirely by that retailer’s own privacy policy, not this one. HotFreshDeals does not receive or store any information about what you do on Amazon’s website, including whether you completed a purchase.

7. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to:

  • Review and act on deal reports (correcting, unpublishing, or leaving a listing as-is);
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the website and its underlying WordPress installation;
  • Diagnose technical issues using standard server logs; and
  • Comply with legal obligations, if any arise.

We do not use any information collected on this site to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information (see Section 15).

8. How We Store and Retain Information

Information described in this Policy (primarily deal reports) is stored in HotFreshDeals’ WordPress database. We have not yet implemented an automatic data-retention/deletion schedule for this data, meaning deal reports persist until a site administrator manually removes them. We recommend the site owner adopt a defined retention period as part of a broader compliance review.

9. Service Providers and Third Parties

Based on the plugins and integrations actually active on this site, HotFreshDeals uses the following categories of service providers:

  • Amazon (Product Advertising/Creators API and the Associates affiliate program) — described in Section 6.
  • Web hosting/infrastructure provider — the company that hosts this website and its database. [Production hosting provider name to be provided once the site is deployed outside of local development.]

As of the date above, HotFreshDeals does not use any analytics provider, advertising network, email marketing platform, customer-support/chat tool, or payment processor — none were found installed on this site during our review, and none are described here to avoid overstating what actually happens.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures designed to help protect information handled by this site, consistent with operating a standard, up-to-date WordPress installation (such as keeping software updated and restricting administrative access to authorized staff). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children’s Privacy

HotFreshDeals is a general-audience deals and shopping site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information (for example, through the Report Deal comment field), please contact us so we can address it.

HotFreshDeals links to Amazon and other third-party retailers. These sites have their own privacy policies and practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit after leaving HotFreshDeals.com.

13. California Privacy Rights

Depending on whether HotFreshDeals is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents may have certain privacy rights regarding personal information. Whether the CCPA/CPRA legally applies to HotFreshDeals depends on statutory revenue, data-volume, and data-sale thresholds that cannot be determined from this website’s code alone — that determination should be made with the site owner’s accountant/attorney based on the business’s actual finances and operations.

To the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies, California residents may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected, used, and disclosed about them;
  • Delete personal information we have collected from them, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about them;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information — see Section 15: based on our review, HotFreshDeals does not currently sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of today;
  • Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information — HotFreshDeals does not collect sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial account details, precise geolocation, or health information) through this site;
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): Because HotFreshDeals does not sell or share personal information or use cookies/technologies that would require honoring an opt-out signal, we do not currently process GPC signals as a sale/share opt-out. If HotFreshDeals’ data practices change such that GPC becomes applicable, this Policy and the site’s technical handling of GPC signals will be updated accordingly.

How to submit a request: California residents can submit a privacy request through our Contact page, which explains how to reach us (see also Section 17). Verification: because this site does not maintain user accounts, we will verify requests using a reasonable method appropriate to the limited information we hold (for example, confirming details you already provided in a deal report you are asking about). Response: we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Exceptions may apply where the law permits us to decline or limit a request (for example, where information must be retained to comply with a legal obligation).

14. California Notice at Collection

To the extent California’s notice-at-collection requirements apply to HotFreshDeals, here is a summary of what we collect and why, as of the date above:

  • Categories collected: (a) technical/internet activity information collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure (IP address, browser/device information, pages viewed); and (b) information voluntarily submitted through the Report Deal form (a selected reason and an optional free-text comment).
  • Purpose of collection: operating and securing the website, and reviewing/acting on deal reports.
  • Categories of third parties who receive information: none, other than the hosting provider that stores our infrastructure logs and database as part of providing hosting service to us.
  • Retention: see Section 8 — deal reports are kept until manually deleted by an administrator; a defined retention schedule has not yet been adopted.
  • Sale or sharing: HotFreshDeals does not sell or share any of the above categories of personal information.

15. “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”

We audited HotFreshDeals’ active plugins, scripts, and integrations specifically to determine whether any service causes personal information to be sold or “shared” (as that term is defined under California law, generally meaning disclosure for cross-context behavioral advertising). We did not find any such functionality on this site — there is no advertising network, ad-tech pixel, or data broker integration active on HotFreshDeals as of the date above.

Because no sale or sharing of personal information was identified, we have not added a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or control, since doing so would suggest a mechanism exists that does not. If HotFreshDeals later adds any advertising or data-sharing technology that would trigger this requirement, an appropriate opt-out control will be implemented at that time and this Policy will be updated.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

17. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to submit a California privacy request, or need to reach us for any other privacy-related reason, please visit our Contact page.

This Privacy Policy is provided as part of the website’s implementation and is not a substitute for review by a qualified attorney. Whether specific legal obligations (including under the CCPA/CPRA or other privacy laws) apply to HotFreshDeals depends on facts about the business that this review could not determine from the website alone.
